r91 release notes

What’s new and what’s changed in this release of Induction Attend Anywhere

Released from Monday 2 June 2025

Improvements

This release contains the following improvements:

  • Participants in group consultations can now turn on noise reduction from the in-call settings. Noise reduction reduces distracting background noise picked up by participants' microphones. Noise reduction is Off by default and resets whenever participants reload their browser.

  • Calls now include sound cues to help communicate events during a call. For example when participants join or leave, change rooms, or when calls transfer.

  • For some time, system administrators could see a list of the last 10 calls in a user profile. Now, organisation administrators (and any account which has permission to view Users) can also see the last 10 calls for a user account.

  • Waiting areas can now have direct clinician-to-clinician emergency calls. We’re piloting this feature with 1 organisation, and rolling it out to others in the following 2 releases.

Bug fixes

This release fixes the following bugs:

  • When 2 (or more) callers had the same names in a call, chat messages from the callers appeared as if they were sent by a single person. Now, participants with the same names are separated correctly.

  • Previously, while adding another caller to an individual appointment, (accidentally) double-clicking the add button, when the new caller had the same name as a caller already in the call, caused the new caller’s camera to stop working. The button can now only be clicked once.

  • Sometimes callers for an individual-appointment didn’t appear in waiting area because their network dropped while they were in the call-waiting screen. The caller was unaware of the problem and remained waiting for the call. Now, the caller sees an error message prompting them to try again.

  • SMS caller-arrival alerts were not always sent when a new caller entered a waiting area. We now send SMS alerts every single time a caller joins a Waiting Area. We’ve also improved the way the system handles these alerts in unusual situations, so it’s much more reliable.

  • Previously, if a user with MFA enabled changed their Attend Anywhere account password, their backup codes would stop working. Now, changing passwords does not affect generated backup codes.

  • Service providers could not change or blur their video background when external cameras were attached or removed during the call. Now, Attend Anywhere changes or blurs the background.

  • People using a temporary password could avoid changing it straightaway by using their browser’s navigation buttons to move to a different page. Now, Attend Anywhere forces someone to change their temporary password before showing other pages.

  • Closing the Chat panel using the close icon (top-right) caused the Chat button to display the incorrect state—either ‘Close chat' or 'Open chat'. Now the Chat button’s tooltip shows the correct state.

  • Page titles (shown in browser tabs, history, and bookmarks) appeared in English even when the user interface was set to Welsh. Page titles now match the selected interface language.

  • NHS Wales only. The NHS Wales logo in the new sign-in screens and emails didn’t follow the latest branding guidelines. Now the logo includes the GIG Cymru–NHS Wales text labels. It’s also higher quality.
