Organisational units
The video call platform allows organisations to separate their activities into different organisational units. Organisational units can be set up to reflect the high-level structure of your operation.
Within each organisational unit, there may be multiple Waiting areas and Meeting rooms.
A hospital may set up organisational units for Cancer Care, Dentistry, Emergency, and Internal Medicine. Within each of these, there may be individual online waiting areas.
Staff in the Internal Medicine organisational unit may meet in a video meeting room called Case Review, and staff from the individual waiting areas may also have their own meeting rooms set up.
Patients receive a link to the waiting area they need, and use this link to enter the waiting area at their appointment time. As the service provider, you meet them in the waiting area, just like you might in your physical workplace.
A government social services organisation may set up organisational units for Benefits, Disability Services, and Housing. Within each of these, there may be individual online waiting areas.
Staff in the Housing organisational unit may meet in a video meeting room called Weekly Safety Overview, to discuss safety issues identified during the week. Staff from the individual waiting areas may also have their own meeting rooms set up.
Service users A person who is seeking care or advice from a service provider via video call. A service user may be a patient, client, consumer, citizen, or similar. receive a link to the waiting area they need, and use this link to enter the waiting area at their appointment time. As the service provider, you meet them in the waiting area, just like you might in your physical workplace.
Each organisational unit can be reported on individually. For more information, see Report types.
Roles and permissions
Organisational units can be created by the video call platform system administrator for your organisation. Each time the organisation wants to enable video calling for one or more of its services, a new organisational unit can be created.
In creating an organisational unit, the system administrator will assign or invite people to become organisation administrators or organisation reporters. See Roles and permissions for information on which tasks these roles can perform.
