Attend Anywhere runs best on up-to-date devices:

• Use the latest version of either Apple Safari, Google Chrome, or Microsoft Edge browsers.

• Make sure your device's operating system is up to date.

The tables below show the minimum versions that will work smoothly for each device.

Desktop

For the most reliable video call experience, we recommend the following minimum hardware requirements:

• Individual appointment - 2GHz dual-core i5 processor with 3GB of RAM.

• Group consultation - 2.7GHz quad-core i5 processor with 8GB of RAM.

The video call platform's call screen uses the device's default microphone, speaker, and camera (known as peripherals). For laptops, tablets, and mobile phones, this will usually be the device's built-in microphone, speaker, and camera.

On desktop computers, peripherals can be external, connected using either a cable or a short-range wireless device.

Example: A Bluetooth microphone is an external peripheral connected wirelessly.

Tip: Some headsets and cameras have built-in microphones. If you are unsure about whether your device has the necessary features, try making a test call.

A wired internet connection will provide the best video quality, but you can also wifi (also called wireless or WLAN) or mobile (4G/5G) data service. Internet speed affects video quality, so your internet connection should meet the following recommended speeds:

• Ping (also called latency): Less than 150 milliseconds (ms).

• Download speed: 1.1 megabits per second (Mbps) or higher. Speeds as low as 0.3 Mbps may work, but others on the call may appear less clear for you.

• Upload speed: 0.7 Mbps or higher. Speeds as low as 0.15 Mbps may work, but your video will likely appear less clear to others on the call.

You can test your speed and latency at www.speedtest.net. The test will show a result that will look something like this:

How much data does a call use?

• A 20-minute video appointment uses about 230 megabytes (MB) on a smartphone, and 450 MB on a desktop computer.

• Data use is less on lower-speed internet connections, or on a less powerful computer, tablet, or smartphone. These factors can also reduce the overall quality of the call.

• Sharing your screen, or viewing other peoples' screens, uses more data.

• Data use increases when there are more than two people in the call.
