Group consultations: Mute everyone's microphone

In a group consultation, you can mute the microphones of all participants. There are two ways to do this, depending on whether or not you're using breakout rooms.

Mute all via breakout rooms panel

To mute all participants when using breakout rooms:

  1. In the participants panel of your group consultation call, select Breakout rooms. The breakout rooms control panel opens.

  2. Select Mute all to mute all participants at once.

Mute all via remote user controls

To mute all participants via the remote user controls:

  1. On the group consultations call screen, hover over the (Remote user controls button) on a participant's video tile. The Remote user controls menu opens.

  2. Select Mute. The participant receives a message that their microphone has been muted by the moderator.

  3. Hover over the (Remote user controls button) again and select Mute everyone else. When prompted, select Mute to confirm. The microphones of all participants except the service provider are now on mute.

You cannot unmute participants, but you can select (Remote user controls button) on a participant's video tile, and ask them to unmute themselves.

Note: When your microphone is muted, participants can still see you. You can mute your microphone and Pause your video at the same time.
