Change device settings
We recommend connecting webcams, headphones, or microphones before the call starts. However if you need to, you can select a different camera, speaker, or microphone during your call.
Note: The following steps only change the device settings for the current call. For a permanent change, see Change the default camera, Change the default headset/speaker, or Change the default microphone.
To change the camera, speaker, or microphone, follow these steps:
-
On the call screen, click Settings.
-
Select the device you want to use from the drop-down menu. The call screen switches to the new device.
If you're using Apple Safari, change the speaker in the system Settings app on your mac, or Control Center on your iPhone or iPad. If you have an Android device, changing the microphone also changes the speakers to the same accessory.
-
Select Close to close the panel.
For tablets and mobile phones, you can also follow these steps to change the camera:
-
On the call screen, tap Change camera.
Your camera changes between the front-facing and rear-facing cameras
Connecting to devices is normally quick, but may take up to 20 seconds. However, you continue to hear all other participants without interruption. In this time, other participants' see you with both paused video and muted audio indicators. This is to let other participants know that you can still hear and see them.
