Create a waiting area
If you are a system administrator or organisation administrator, you can create a waiting area.

From the main menu, select Organisational Units and select or search for the one you need.

From the settings panel, select Create Waiting Area. The Create Waiting Area dialog opens.

Complete the fields.

Description
Name of your service
Enter the name you want service users A person who is seeking care or advice from a service provider via video call. A service user may be a patient, client, consumer, citizen, or similar. and staff to see when they access the waiting area.
Example: Neurology, Maternal Health, Disability Services.
Link
By default, a waiting area link is created using the service name you entered. This is the link your service users will need to enter the waiting area.
You can enter a different name in this field, if necessary.
Description
An optional field that lets you add a description of the waiting area. This will be displayed to service users before they enter the waiting area.
Waiting area type
Select the type of waiting area you want to create:

Regular consultations: Designed for one-on-one consultations but can take up to 6 participants. Multiple staff with the role of service provider can work in the waiting area at the same time.

Group consultations: Designed for groups of up to 60 participants in one consultation, including staff members with the role of service provider.
Note: The waiting area type cannot be changed after the waiting area has been created. If you chose the wrong option by mistake, you will need to delete the waiting area and create it again. For more information, see Delete a waiting area.

Select Save. The new waiting area is added to the list of waiting areas for that organisational unit.
